Loneliness ..A state of MiNd !

Sometime you feel very lonely even if you are in the crowd. You feel that you should get lost somewhere in the crowd, but you should not become a part of the crowd at any time !

Sometimes you need the crowd around you and sometimes you hate to see the crowd around you ! I always wanted the first thing, but today my mind is crying for the second one !

I don't know why I am feeling that way. May be it's just a state of mind. Good part is that my mind and my thoughts are quite volatile ! Just waiting the loneliness in my mind to get vaporized !

They say that the time is the best healer !

Good news … I have a good “bakra” at my room ….Abhay has come to my place to enjoy (?) his holidays ….!

Bad News ….He does not let me sleep early at night ….so feel sleepish in the office !

Monday early morning we were watching Mr. Been and at around 2 AM my roomie came to us and asked us just to peep outside house !

My GOD …Snow all the way … We packed ourselves immediately and set out !

It was really fun as it was my first snow fall here. We took plenty of snaps. I tried to take the snap of Abhay hitting a snow ball at me, but had to take many retakes as Abhay is very very DAKU ! He did “chance pe dance” and hit me many snow balls. Finally I could take the following photo !



We went out side the appt to have a look at the roads and the roads were all white ! I understood what is coming on for next few days ..Driver’s nightmare ! ( Good that I don’t have to drive he he !)

I took some snaps in the morning before going to office as well.

Its really getting cold here and I am enjoying it ! Now till March I have to get along with a sight of Snowy Roads, but it looks wonderful !

It is all about WE, the people ! It is all about our own story...about our own country and our own people ! It is all about our own believes, ignorance and our ways of thinking. It is like looking into mirror at yourself !

It's all about "Swades" !

It is the movie which has the lowest overseas collection in the first week of any Shah Rukh Khan movie. The collections in the first week in India also indicate that it is doing below average business.

But what did I feel about the movie ?

The movie is shot at some exotic locations in the north India. I was really happy to see such wonderful locations in India .. a real treat to eye ! Some village scenes are shot in a small village Wai, near my home town. Movie really makes you think. eSpecially when Shah Rukh talks about our habit of passing the blame on others' head. We never DO, but we ALWAYS talk. (This is my mere observation about people I have seen so far and it holds true for me as well.) I really appreciated that Ashutosh dared to show this fact in the movie. We always say that our culture is the best. But I think it is very "relative" matter and we can not compare the two lifestyles/cultures. Both are right at their places.

Also the Shah Rukh Khan's interaction with the village people make you laugh. The initial scenes between Shah Rukh Khan and Gayatri when they are trying to over smart each other are really excellent. Ohh buoy ...she looks damn cute. Kinda "fall in love" type ! Watch this pic of her !



First time I thought that Shah Rukh Khan can act too. He has acted very well eSpecially in the later part when he is caught into two minds whether to stay in US or go back to India. The "Lagaan" team has also played well. All sixes ! Ashutosh has once again proved that he is different from the pack. I liked the scene at the Railway station where Shah Rukh Khan buys water from a little boy. Watching Shah Rukh Khan in a train and in Bus are very well shot instances in the movie. eSpecially I liked the below Photo.



But initial scenes in NASA, the press conference, does not seem to be happening in NASA. Also the presentation that Shah Rukh Khan makes in the press conferrence is quite ordinary. These scenes could have been much better. Also Gayatri is shown in Saree all the time. But her Saree seems to be the one taken directly from the Shop. Hard to digest that a village girl wears new saree everyday ! I have heard that Aamir Khan had collected old cloths from his friends to use in Rangeela to get the realistic sense. At lease she could have used faded Sarees ! Ashutosh has tried to touch many subjects at a time in this movie. He looks lost sometimes in the middle.

It really hurts to know that the collections of Veer-Zara in the 5th week are much more than that of Swades. May be this movie makes you think and people want only entertainment out of movies. I saw the movie in the theater, but I am eagerly waiting to buy the DVD of this movie so that I can watch into mirror whenever I want to !

Over all, its a MUST watch movie for everybody including who stays in UStayAlone !

Ocean's Twelve ....

Yeas, I am going to write about yesterday night's adventures !

Yesterday night we went to watch the sequel of Ocean's 11 : Ocean's Twelve. As name suggests, it has a "special" addition to the team of thieves. It is a very well directed movie, but in the last 20-30 minutes, felt like watching a typical bollywood hindi Movie. There are very humourous scenes when Julia will act in the movie as "Julia Roberts". Worth watching once. All the actors have given a good performance eSpecially George Clooney. I really like this guy's work !

Catherine Zeta-Jones looks too good !!

But the real story began when the movie ended. After the movie ended and we just stood up from our seats, Gaurav said, " Really a nice movie yaar !". Soon while we were leaving the theater, Mohit whispered into my ears ... "Gaurav was sleeping all the time ! " (lol)

Any way, it was a good time-pass for me after getting bored with my regular schedule. I need more of such breaks these days !! Lots of holidays are also coming. So let's N'joy it !!!

P.S. : Many people will be happy to read this blog as I haven't tried to generate any story out of this !

For a Change ..

For a change I have decided ...

1) Not to call Abhay today. (Let him study as his exams are going on !)
2) Not to write blog on any person. (Many people must be relieved)
3) Not to call anybody in India. (Everybody in India will have peace of mind today : lol)
4) Decided not to watch Hindi movie today. (No special reason !)
5) Not to bug Amity/eShal on Yahoo.

Just need a break from regular stuff ! Worth for others ...He he !

You can not imagine there can be such reasons for people to be happy.

1) Prashant is happy because after his exams in IITB, he is enjoying his holidays at his home. He is happier now as phone at his home is not working. This is what he has written in his mail.

I read his mail at 7.00 PM. But before that I had tried his home no at 12 Noon and got the message that the phone is out of order. (I really cursed a lot to BSNL !) After reading this mail, I am laughing like anything ! People back in India are really scared of my Phones. (But relianceindiacall people must be happy :lol)

2) Abhay is very happy for Prashant. This is what he mentioned in his mail !

1. u r at home (not sure when i will be)

2. exams r over (hv 4 exams in 4 days!! u know what i mean???)

3. having lotsa free time (may be i cud renumber it as 2a!!)

4. can sleep at 8

5. mandar cant call u!!! (the happiest man on the whole globe!!!!!)

i remember writing a "nibandh" in school days..."vidnyan, fayade ki tote"...sure, i did not realise at that time that vidnyan cud be so dangerous, rather PAKAUFYING!!! doom the day when Alexander Graham Bell ended up inventing telephone!!! if i ever meet him in swarga (where i am destined to go!!!), i wud first hold "gachchi"...but that wudnt be in near future...so prashant just tell me what u hv done to ur telephone???? "

Imagine what I have done after reading Abhay's mail : I called at his home. But today seems to be a good day of his. I could not catch him on phone. Hell ! Better you watch out Abhay !!

By the way, my regular bakra's these days for Voice Chat/Phone call are :

1) Paragya Shah Rukh Tengshe - I call him at his room and starting firing him everyday for not keeping in touch ! Then I tell him to call me back at my home through his cell. He must be repenting why he took the cell phone !

2) Abhay - My roommate has taken cell so that I can call this guy everyday.

3) eShal - He must be trying to remember the first day when we had a Voice chat to find out what was wrong on that day ! He must be repenting over that as he is in Japan and I catch him almost everyday now a days.

4) Amit Teli(phone) - Its different case with Amity as we both are not sure who "pakavufy" whom ! May both of us are too DIM to understand that !

But now I have decided to become a good boy. So I am trying to catch new "bakra"s these days. I already got one "bakra". Called Siva and talked for 90 minutes ! (All people mentioned above would be on cloud no 9 after reading this.)

Anyone interested to become my "bakra", please let me know your number !

The Mayonnaise Jar

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar...and the 2 cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full.

They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full.

They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full.

The students responded with a unanimous yes.

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand.

The students laughed.

Now said the professor, as the laughter subsided, I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things-your God, family, your children, your health, your friends,and your favorite passions-things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, and your car. The sand is everything else-the small stuff. If you put the sand into the jar first, he continued, there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls.

The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children (I can't do this !). Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner (I can't do this either !). Play another 18 (I am 18 till I die). There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first, the things that really matter.

Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled. I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.

A Saga by Riverside !

RASH-ME !!

All of us are fed up with her non-stop buk-buk !

Preeti is fed up with Rash-me as she has got used to forget her appt key and wake her up at 1 AM everyday. Mohit, Gaurav and Vinay are fed up with her as she does not share rent with them. I am fed up with her as she starts talking Marathi with me every time. (I have not seen anybody killing Marathi so brutally.)

I am writing only one reason per person due to lack of time and space !

On Sunday, I had a very bad dream and I suddenly woke up shouting "Marathi manasa Jaagaaa Hoooooooooo ". Gaurav got so much exited with my shouting that he called all of us together and had a master plan of getting rid of Rash-me !

As Philadelphia Downtown is Gaurav's favorite place, he prepared a plan that we all will take Rash-me to downtown alongside river and then one of us will take an opportunity to push her into the deep water.

So we somehow convince her to come with us to downtown. We had to listen to her "ThaN ThaNa ThaN ThaN ThaN Thharah" while convincing her. Mohit, at a point, was so pissed off that he was about to bang his laptop on her head. But somehow Vinay stopped him from doing that !

So we were all set with our Master Plan !

We reached the riverside and started looking for the deepest point in the river. Finally we arrived at that point. We were standing by the river. Gaurav started talking to Rash-me so that she does not understand what is going behind her. Preeti confirmed that it was the deepest point and we can finish our assignment there. Vinay analysed the situation and gave me hint that I can go ahead and finish the job. Mohit was all set to take the snap of this historical moment in our lives.

So I slowly moved towards Rash-me, taking care that no body hears even my footsteps. I reached her and I was about to push her down in the river and ...........

Suddenly she turned around and starting talking to me in Marathi ...I mean in a language that she thinks to be Marathi

....... And look at me ...... I was literally frozen !!!!

Everybody was angry with me as I could not finish up the job, eSpecially Mohit. I later learned that he was angry with me because he could not take the snap of this very historical moment ! He took revenge of this with all of us by telling us to stand/stop/sit/walk and all possible verbs, in all possible positions to take the snaps ! I swear everybody of us will run away when we will see camera in Mohit's hand .....off course Rash-me wouldn't !

But we have not lost our hopes yet. We have immediately come up with a new plan to be executed next week. We will go to the ice-skating next week Saturday in the morning. But the final plan of how to execute this really important job while skating is not decided yet. All ideas are heartily welcome. The person, whose idea will work, will be served free in Hillbrook Bar for his whole life ! (Thanks to Gaurav)

Kal Ho Na Ho !

Today watched Kal ho na ho 5th time. I remember that I had bet with one of my friends to watch this movie 5 times. But it took me 1 year to watch this movie 5 times. May be due to Shah Rukh exaggerate Khan !

I had heard a story about the "railway station" scene in this movie. When Shah Rukh exaggerate Khan proposes Preity Zinta (on behalf of Saif), by reading the dialogues from an empty diary. This scene was shot at two places. Finally they decide to keep this "propose scene" at railway station. While watching movie Gaurav told me that this scene was shot at Philadelphia railway station, which is like 15-20 min from my current place.

When I watched this movie today, I remembered that exactly 1 year back I was heading for an Annual vacation of 15 days in India. I had left office early and I had gone to Pune along with Shashank that night. We were really scared when there were thousands of people in the local train due to some program in the Dadar the very next day. Every body was trying to get down at the Dadar Station and there was hell lot of rush. I lost my valuable and lucky spectacles on the railway station that day. I can still remember each and every moment of that day !

But it was really fun to watch that movie! I like the songs from this movie. Sonu Nigam rocks !

Kissa "Gift" ka !

Last week I got an invitation from Viral to attend the B'day party of his son Kush. (Viral lives in front of my appt.) To avoid last minute rush (which is the usual case), I decide to co-ordinate (?) the mega event of buying the gift. Here is what happened in complete week.

Wednesday 2 PM:

me : Mohit, please go out with Gaurav and buy something for Kush. Consider my and buddy's (my room-mate) contribution.

Mohit (Sleepless in Hillbrook ): Hey I could not sleep yesterday night as well.(what's new in that ?) There was some problem with blah blah system and had to resolve that. Still I will try to remind Gaurav about the same.

As expected I didn't hear anything from him next day. So I decided to catch his other roomie, Vinay (does that mean humbleness in Marathi...I doubt !)

Thursday 3 PM :

me : Vinay, can you go out today with Gaurav to get a present for Kush?

Vinay : arrreee yaaar ! Problem hai. Mere ko aaj (as usual) Monika (name changed) ke saath bahar jana hai. Mere pas aaj to time nahi hai !

me : (to myself off course) Muze pata hai kal bhi tumhare pass time nahi hoga ...saale kitni baar bolega Monika ko bahar leke jana hai ...kab leke jayega ?

Finally I decide to catch hold of Gaurav. Friday afternoon Gaurav happened to come to my cubicle.

Friday 4 PM :

me : Hey Gaurav, we'll go out today to bring something for Kush.

Gaurav (the Bar tender/Owner at Hillbrook bar) : Hey, today is Friday man. Today I have lots of work at Hillbrook bar. Better I talk to Buddy about getting a gift ! By the way, do visit Hillbrook bar tonight !

me : (smile)

And then I realised that I am really a very good coordinator. The ball has come back in my own court, I mean me and my roomie are supposed to get a gift.

Friday evening my roomie came home a bit late. Being under the impression that he must have got something for Kush (who will go out so late ?? I hate it !), I didn't ask him anything about the gift.

Saturday Early moring 2.30 AM :

Mohit, sleepless in Hillbrook, is still online on yahoo. Being Saturday I was doing usual timepass on the net. So I pinged him.

me : Mohit, do you have any idea about the gift ?

Mohit : Gift ...what gift .... ohh ...I have not talked to Gaurav about it yet ! Let me ask him now. But he seems to be busy preparing something new recipe in the kitchen.

After sometime.

Mohit : Are woh bol raha hai ki buddy leke aayega !

me : (laughing) Thik hai. I need to go to sleep now. (If I tell him that it has not been bought yet ..he will kill me) Bye !

Saturday Morning 11 AM :

Buddy woke up and I asked him about the gift. He said Gaurav will bring it (Bingo !). I told him that he hasn't. Then he had his own "oh my GOD” session for 5 mins.

me : I will sleep for sometime. Please go and bring something !

When I woke up at 12 Noon. I heard many voices around me in my appt.

Buddy : You told you will bring the gift.

Gaurav : You told you will bring the gift.

Buddy : I thought you said you are gone bring it !

Gaurav : I thought you said you are gone bring it !

Then they were talking for 5 mins, each sentence was meaning the same what is written above.

In between, Viral shouts from his appt,

Viral : Hey buddy, I had given you guys invitation of 11 AM. We are waiting for you guys for an hour !

I quietly woke up and took bath and joined the party !

What a coincident ! My sister and mother had sent me Diwali greetings. My sis wrote my appt no wrong, so I got it late. Late but on perfect time ! I read my mom's letter on her B'day !

I don't remember when did I post letter last time in my life ...probably 7-8 years back ! Due to change in communication technology, never had to do that past few years !

But when I read the letter today I thought nothing can beat the feelings which you'll have after reading hard copy !
