Just borrowed it from my friend to prove that I was a logical thinker once upon time!

Even logical thinkers leave thinking and logic both behind once they start working as s/w engineer!

FRIENDs are Forever !

I know I am the luckiest person in the world. But it has nothing to do with me as such! Its all because of my friends.

It really flattens me to know how much my friends love me. I was busy last 2-3 weeks and could not send mails to anybody. Today one friend turned up on YM and told me that he is missing my mails! His words "are tu mail keli nahis ki kase tari watte" (It really sucks if you don't mail me!)

An Indian friend, currently in Japan, sends me a B'day Gift when I am in UStayAlone! (Height of Globalization) I am speechless! I remember I was out watching movie on my B'day and had got 4-5 calls at around 12 at night going unanswered and none of these had come from UStayAlone!

But UPS really sucks....these people can not figure out exact appt nos. It took almost 1 month to reach parcel at my place though the website said it to be within 2 days! Also today they dropped the parcel at the appt just infront of mine and not at my appt. Fortunately he is my friend and I could finally get it !

I wish to sing on the tune of the song "WORDS" ....!

Its only FRIENDS and FRIENDS are all I have .......

I know nobody can beat me in that respect!

Shwaas ...Akheracha ! (The last one)

I was eagerly waiting for the announcements for the Oscar Nominations this year. Shwaas was India's entry to the Oscar in the Best Foreign Film Category.

It is basically a short film about a boy who is about to lose his eyesight. The story is based on a real life incident of well-known cancer Surgeon Dr. Shailesh Puntambekar. The movie revolves around this kid, his grandfather, the doctor and a social activist who helps the grandfather to come out of this shock. Here is a synopsis of the movie taken from the its website :

"An old man from a remote village, Parule, brings his seven-year-old grandson, Parashuram to the city to consult to Dr Sane (name changed in the movie). Parashuram is having trouble with his eyes. After a series of investigations the child is diagnosed with Retino-blastoma, an eye cancer. The doctor suggests a severe treatment resulting into a lifelong darkness for Parashuram. Grandfather is shaken. He refuses to acknowledge the truth and tries to avoid the situation, but he is finally convinced for the treatment. While the grandfather struggles through the situation courageously, things happen such a way that makes him take some peculiar actions, which highlight the importance of living life gracefully. In the end Parashuram faces his fate with a smile."

Shwaas

A brilliantly shot short film with excellent performances! The producer of the movie, Arun Nalavade has given the performance of his life as a grandfather. Sandeep Kulkarni has acted brilliantly as a Doctor. He is the real masterstroke in the movie! Ashwin Chitale as a kid, Parashuram, looks very natural. He really looks painful all over the movie. The credit goes to the him and director for his natural performance! Amruta Subhash plays the social activist character. She is one of the budding talents in the Marathi Theater. She has proved it again in this movie.

The movie was ranked at 6th place in the nomination list for the Foreign Film Category in Oscars. Only first five could move to the final selection. So we can say this movie almost made it to the Oscars!

Neway, its a "feel good" effect to see that Indian Cinema Industry is growing intellectually!

Man Proposes .....!

Wai ..A small town near Satara ! This place is very close to my home…only 3 hours from my home in India. I remember Gangajal and Swades were shot here! But when I read the news today, I was shocked. Click here for the news.

Stampede1

Many a times we propose something good. But the Almighty has some different Plans. This year there was a comparatively good monsoon in the Western Maharashtra. So people thought to thank the Almighty for all HER “KRIPA” that SHE has bestowed upon them! So they gathered together to pray and praise HER during the annual Mandra Devi Yatra at the Mandra Devi temple, located on a hill in Wai. All of them came enthusiastically carrying idols of the Almighty. Everybody was happy as everything was going as planned.

But the Almightly had different plans! They went there carrying HES idols, but they had to go back carrying the dead bodies of their dear-ones!

Stampede2

It is quite shocking for me! But they always say, “Man proposes GOD disposes!”

May be the Almighty had different plans. But it always amazes me when such incidents happen around temple/on the way to temple. We really are “KATHAPUTALI”s and the Almighty manages the “SHOW” the way SHE wants to!

KISNA...... The Worry for People !

Everybody says SHE is good at asking questions. I always say that I am very good at answering HER question. (Nobody agrees with me on this though) Just have a look at the recent "Question-Answer Session" between us :

SHE : How can you see Subhash Ghai's movie on the first day?
ME : Actually I wanted to see Kisna (The Wa(o)rrior Poet) for two reasons. First one was Amrish Puri and second one was music. I saw it in the theater on the first day second show! As title suggests, you will really worry where/who was the Poet in the movie!

SHE : And what did you get in return ?
ME : Almost 10 mins role of Amrish Puri (I was very upset over this as length of his role was short) and good Music by A.R. Rahman and Ismail Darbar!

SHE : What is the contribution of this movie to Bollywood ?
ME : I don't know what is the contribution to Bollywood, but Subhash Ghai has given a boast to India's hope to get the medal in the Olympics. He has given a chance to Isha Sharvani to show all her talent in the Gymnastics. 90 % of her role in the movie comprises of doing all the strenuously performed acts of aerobics, or her favorite "Rope" exercise on the tree! Subhash Ghai should show this movie to the Chairman of Indian Olympics Association. Olympic medal is not away now!

SHE : Some people say that the title of this movie should be Katherine. Do you agree with this ?
ME : (A BiG) NO !

SHE : Why ?
ME : I think the name of this movie should be .. The Chase (A Worry for People). The chase sequence in the movie is really funny, confusing, boring, baffling, bewildering and certainly not seem to be realistic. KAUN... KAHA .... KAISE aa jata hai pata nahi chalata! After a while you can certainly predict who's next in the Chase to the perfection. See you can play "Mind Games" while watching this movie.

SHE : What about the performances?
ME : Vivek Oberoi tries to be natural, but he does not fit into the ROLE at all. As told earlier, Isha stands a very good chance for medal in the Olympics. Antonia looks good and has performed even better. She really has a good future. But I seriously doubt about Subhash Ghai's future! He is still making the movies in the OLD 80's Style.

SHE : Can you tell me something good about movie ?
ME : Yeah.

SHE : Then tell me ! (Its an order ...not a question!)
ME : Good music by AR Rehman and Ismail Darbar.... eSpecially "My Wish Comes True" song is very good! Good photography. Good performance by Antonia. Amrish Puri was very good as usual though has been given a very short role. He will be missed!

SHE : What is the morale of the movie ?
ME : Har Pyar MILAN to nahi ..Aakhir JUDAI bhi ek pyar hee to hai!

SHE : What does that mean ?
ME : Real love is between two souls and not between two bodies.... the bodies can depart but the real love between souls can NEVER depart!

SHE : What was that ? (Angrily)
ME : One of the few dialogues which made me sleep!

That's all about Kisna .... The Worry for People !

SUrPRIse Time .. P@rty Time !

Yesterday Night 9 PM :

Mohit, Gaurav, Vinay, Sachin, Rashmi, Rajesh and Viral came to our appt. (As usual) I was sleeping in the bedroom and Buddy (Goudhaman), Nagendra were sitting in the Hall.

They didn't even bother to talk to buddy and lifted him and started giving the bumps. He was wondering what was going on. So he started shouting, "Mandar, Mandar .... help me ..! Bachaoooooo"

So I ran towards hall at the speed of light with My Camera. I took the snap of this "On Going Kicking Show" and made buddy invisible. I also took care that the faces of all the people who were giving him bumps will come blurred so that there will be no proof of this incidence. Wann check the photo ... here we go ... !

Invisible

Buddy thanked me for saving his life by making him invisible in the photo. Then he asked what was going on in our appt. Suddenly Nagendra brought the Cake from the kitchen (Which was kept as a very secret place). Then Buddy realised that it was treat given to him by all of us by giving him b'day bumps!

Then as usual after cutting cake, a very important and holy ritual of painting the face with the cake followed. Everybody did "chance pe dance" by performing this important ritual! I made it sure that I catch this moment in my camera!

Buddy bday

Just was wondering who is next now !!

Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham !

As I dropped Abhay on the airport on Saturday, just thought how much he has helped me in boasting my patience for last 20 days! Yes, I had to tolerate this guy for 20 days! It must have definitely improved my patience level. So I just thought of trying to understand upto what extent I have improved my patience. What is the thing which I could not do because I ran out of patience ....! Here we go ..... I could not watch (could not even think that I can watch) one movie in my entire life span of little over 25 years..... K3G! Yeah ...

Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham
- "It's all about loving your parents."

In fact I could not dare to watch this movie in the theater when it was released. I even kept myself 1 KM away from the theater where the moving was running at that time! Some people will deliberately ask to specify the specific direction in which I kept myself away... so let me make it clear that I kept myself outside the circumference of radius 1 KM from the theater!!

This is perfect example how you can spoil the talented people like Amitabh, Jaya, Kajol, Shah Rukh (I can include him after watching "SWADES") and Hrithik. It takes HELL lot of efforts to waste such a talent in 4 hour long movie ! The perfect example to tell you that you can not watch Kareena Kapoor doing all the funny and stupid things on the screen !

So all set .. I started the movie at 6 ...four hours to go !

Amitabh started to bore me to death right from the first line ! But he was just a first one ! Few scenes between Amitabh-Shah Rukh, Amitabh-Jaya, Shah Rukh-Jaya, Shah Rukh-Hrithik, Hrithik-Amitabh are very touchy! [ I am sorry if I have forgotten any other combination ;) ]. I could not stop laughing after watching such "touchy" scenes. But once Kajol comes into the movie, it was somehow bearable. It’s strange that I didn't know that Hrithik was shown as a kid in this movie. That was a surprise for me! I prayed hard (I had prayed after a gap of almost 9 months since I came here) to Bhagwan that Hrithik should not grow up at all, at least till the time movie gets over, but as usual ... Bhagwan ne meri nahi sunee ! (Next time when I am gone pray, I will think twice! )

One more surprise was Rani Mukherjee. I was thinking that she appears as guest only in one song. But she had a bit more role to play. At least she does her job and leaves as early as possible from movie. May be she didn't want to get herself bored with the crappy dialogues from Amitabh!

Once Shah Rukh left the home .. I knew what was coming in my plate ... Kareena Kapoor! Simply un-watchable substance! She has the best hand in the most of the worst scenes in the movie!

I was overwhelmed when I saw that most of the students in the MBA college of London are desi. We are really good at getting ourselves educated! Way to go Karan Johar!

I pity the person who taught Hrithik to dance. I remember the character of Dustin Hoffman in Rain Man. This guy does the all the things in the manner in which he is taught at the first place. No change at all. Similarly, Hrithik dances the same way in all songs, irrespective of the lyrics and rhythm of the songs. I think he should tell the choreographers that he can dance on the other dance steps too! He is a good dancer. But seems to be dancing on the same steps in all the movies. Then it is very difficult for a person like me to remember which movie I am watching. When I was watching Hrithik dancing in one of the songs with Kareena, I told to my roomie that I didn't know that Kareena is also present in "Kaho Na Pyar Hai". I thought they must have cut the song in "Kaho Na …." when I watched it in the theater. But he reminded me that I am watching K3G!

I admired the last half an hour "Muze Maaf Karado" scenes most as I was rolling on the floor all the time as I could not stop laughing ! Everybody was saying sorry to other person as if it was a scheduled cron job ! First Hrithik to Shah Rukh, then Shah Rukh to Hrithik. Then Hrithik to Amitabh, then Jaya to Amitabh. After that Amitabh says sorry to himself and then to Jaya. Then Shah Rukh does his turn. After that Kajol gets her chance to cry in front of first Jaya and then Amitabh. Finally (my guess is) Shah Rukh says sorry to Amitabh and in turn Amitabh does a "chance pe dance" and says sorry to Shah Rukh ! Huuuussshhhh .. my brain cells (a very few which were still alive) got scattered everywhere when I tried to remember this sequence! But I surely do remember everybody of them forgot to say sorry to the audience for PAKAVUFYING non-stop four hours!

$100 prize for the person who will mail me the correct sequence of this "Muze Maaf karado" saga to my personal email id ;)

Also I have a modified tagline for this movie : Kabhi Khush Kabhi Gham - "Its all about getting yourself bored "

Morale of the Movie –
Get yourself into any kind of trouble (get hurt/ offended/ wounded/ injured/ even get yourself killed), but don’t dare to test your patience by watching K3G. All thanks to Abhay to boast my patience level because of which I could watch movie. Even if you dared, do something like calling to your friends/home to distract yourself from getting bored ….. I mean from watching the movie!

Please have a "TARAS" on my "HAALAT" which I had after watching this movie !

K3G its all about Boring

Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham ....
Ab na Kabhi ese dekhenge hum ... !

RainCoat

Just watched Raincoat !

Speechless !

Just was trying to find the answer to the question .... " What I would have done if I were at Ajay Devgan's position .... ?"

(Again) SpeechLESS !

Guess I won't be able to find out the answer in my life time !

Good to watch this movie when Abhay is around ......he he !

Must watch movie to see Ajay Devgan and Ash's performance ..brilliant ! Ajay Devgan Rocks ! Ash is too good .....!

Had seen last movie of Rituparn Ghosh ....Choker Bali . So was expecting that he will leave the movie hanging at the end ....it was a good GUESS !

Will I be able to answer myself to the question that I asked myself ?

Friends are forever !

Yesterday said "alvida" to Balaji. He has been a very good friend of mine. In fact when I joined my first project, he was not part of my team exactly, but he used to help me a lot. That too when he was in Singapore and I was in India. You won't expect to get help like this from your known ones. But he did it !

Whenever he used to come back from onsite project, he used to bring us hell lot of chocolates...of different types. Me and Amit were the first one to grab them !

He was the one who helped me when I came to UStayAlone. I counted on him only though I knew many people here. He is genius and I am mischievous. This is what I did on his b'day !

M@nn did this !

He will be going home and he will work from there. He is really workaholic ! I am not sure when we are going to meet again or whether we are gone meet again ...!

But as they say ..... FRIENDS ARE FOREVER !!

One More Love Story !!

One of my friends said that the Life eStyle in the first half (before getting a gal) matches with mine in the college ! Not sure whether it will change once I get a gal ;)

Time will only tell ..He he !

One more Lovestory !

My Old GOLDEN Days !

I am missing all the action in cricket these days. I was really number 1 Cricket crazy fan in my college days. I remember I almost got myself screwed up in 2nd year engg when the world cup was going on in 1999. Used to see matches late night and then used to start studies ...No wonder I scored very poorly in that sem.

I still feel ... GIVE ME WINGS and I WILL fly LIKE SARWAN !

Give me wings to fly
