The Last Day of my LIFE! - Part One

So finally as I told I have started daydreaming again. Being my latest dream, I have decided to write down a script for a short film. You may find some of the things being copied from here and there, but being my first attempt, I think I can afford to do that. Still I would try to be as natural as possible. This story is about Mike and Manas. Finally after lot of thinking, I have decided that Tom Hanks is gonna play Mike’s role and Manas will be played by Al Pacino! I preferred Tom Hanks over Tim Robbins just because he has that innocent look with a hint of sadness that is required by the character of Mike. (Btw, my pet name is also Mike and I look innocent too ….but with a mischievous look on my face!)

Important Announcement : All characters in this movie are fictitious. Any resemblance to any alive or dead is purely confidential. And this stands true for all the blogs being titled “The Last Day of my LIFE”!

Instructions: When I write “(in background)”, this means that the character is not speaking on the screen and the dialogue is being narrated by the character in the background.

The Scene : Mike (Tom Hanks) walking by the graveyard. He stops at the gate, gazes and stares at the camera with sadden look on his face.

Mike (in background) : Whenever I pass by the graveyard, I feel the sense of belonging! I think I belong here. I should go inside and get myself buried. So one day I went to this place and got myself buried under thoughts!

He decides to enter it and goes by a nearby bench and sits there.

Mike : “Seems the time has frozen. Every thing has stopped. Even I have stopped breathing. Seems I was looking for this ONE moment for ages and it has come now. A moment I wish will NEVER last. “

Mike (in background) : This very moment has brought me back lots of moments down my memory lane. I can see my journey, often called a LIFE, clearly at this moment! I tried to find all moments of joy, all moments of Glory, but just lost digging deep down to find nothing. All I could find were the moments when I was sad, moments when I was devastated!

Mike : "I can see all moments of my own failure right away. Ohh my GOD ....they are running before my eyes ...seems they will NEVER last! I am a born failure! I have always planned everything perfectly and my perfection has always lead to failure! I have always dreamed, just to get all these dreams brutally killed by the reality!”

Mike (in background) : Who is to blame here? Is it my destiny or my attitude or anything else …..aahh … I don’t know the answer n’ it seems I don’t want to know it. I am not interested to know the reasons in the past that have lead to my unending failures. So here I am, trying to catch this very moment!

Mike : “Common O Lord, give me the strength to catch this very moment. Give me the courage to stop the time. Give me power to challenge your rules. Give me the faith in your abilities. Give me the chance to win.”

Mike (in background) : I know I am done here. It’s really enough for me now. Still…. I just sat there, picturing myself to be part of the place that I have adored for ages!!

Mike looks in front of the bench he is sitting to find one cemetery...... his own!!

My Grave1

Mike gets up and comes slowly out of the graveyard. He joins the main path which is very much crowded. He looks at around. He can see a juvenile couple kissing in a restaurant through the glass. Kids are playing on the roads with enormous energy.

He stops and looks up towards the sky. The camera goes up and captures the scene around him, he being at the central. (You can see lots of things happening around. The air is full of noise and energy.)

(The camera comes down slowly and focuses on his face. As he is still looking up, you can see the screen completely occupied by his face. While camera is coming down he continues to speak in the background.)

Mike (in background): Can you see the crowd around me? (grins sadly) Off course I know, you can! But I feel like no body’s around me.

(The camera goes up slowly again. This time the noise in the air is fading and as it moves up you can’t see anybody around him who were present at the scene previously. When camera goes up at the same spot, you can see that he is alone standing on the road. The restaurant is also empty. Not a single human around.)

Mike looks down and mutters something that is inaudible. Again his voice in the background.

Mike (in background): I am feeling lonely today. I think its time to meet HIM again.

He is starts walking. He is shown from back side. He walks slowly on a lonely road with dead silence. He turns round the corner and goes into his apartment. His apartment door is wide open.

Mike (in background): I know YOU are waiting for me!
